![]() ![]() As the series progresses over its four seasons, The Legend of Korra proves itself a very different beast than its predecessor, exploring political themes and social prejudices in deeper-and often darker-detail, while also expanding the more fantastic elements of the universe and revealing the origins of the first Avatar. When Korra, the new Avatar, moves to Republic City to complete her training in manipulating the primal elements under the tutelage of Tenzin-Aang's son, now with a family of his own-she and her new friends Mako and Bolin find themselves caught in the growing tensions between those with the ability to "bend" elements and the Equalist movement, who claim the unpowered are an oppressed class. Set 70 years after Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra explores how Avatar Aang's once war-torn world has progressed after decades of relative peace. Just remember, the key word in the title is “bizarre”! Honestly, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is nonsense at times-but such hyper-stylish nonsense that you’ll easily be swept up in the madness. The decision to focus each season on a different era also makes for a surprisingly digestible viewing experience, despite the scope. Original creator Hirohiko Araki drew influence from Western rock music and high fashion, combining these with exaggerated physiques and hyperkinetic action to make this anime adaptation visually and tonally unique. Luckily, each generation of the Joestar family has a champion (each with a name that can be trimmed to JoJo) to rise to the challenge, mastering arcane abilities of their own-notably summoning ghostly giants known as Stands-to combat Dio and a host of other supernatural threats across the ages. This is no mere tale of warring clans, though, as Dio’s dabbling with dark forces sees him returning over the eras to plague Jonathan’s decendants anew. That showing has accumulated 86 points, which is good enough for 29th place.īut the real show to watch right now is Lucifer, which has continued the success it saw on Netflix in 2020. Jurassic Park: Camp Cretaceous is in the midst of a 21-day run on the Top 10 charts. On a final note, there are a few shows that seem to be on the precipice of joining this list. And while both of those shows experienced fruitful runs in May, it’s likely that both programs will exit the Top 10 charts very soon. The only other notable movement came from The Upshaws and StartUp, which moved 16th and 18th place positions, respectively. But the second season has only spent eight days in the top spot, and has fallen pretty far down the charts after just 16 days. Who Killed Sara?’s debut slate of episodes achieved 14 showings atop the daily charts and nabbed 247 points in its first 30 days-which is currently the tenth-most ever. However, it seems as though the program’s second season isn’t destined for the kind of success as the first season. The murder/mystery has benefitted from both of its two seasons premiering in 2021, which has resulted in 51 total appearances on the Top 10 charts this year-22 of which were spent in the #1 position (that’s the fourth-most ever, by the way).
